About Me

I am Rashia “Rah Digga” Fisher-Weeks, a recording artist, songwriter, performer, educator, entrepreneur, and cultural leader from Newark, New Jersey. My career in Hip Hop spans more than three decades, beginning with the Outsidaz and later as a member of Busta Rhymes’ Flipmode Squad. My debut album, Dirty Harriet, established me as a solo artist and led to an international career that has included recording, touring, film, television, major collaborations, and performances around the world.

As my career evolved, I expanded my work beyond the stage and recording studio into education, entrepreneurship, executive production, media, and community leadership. In 2015, I founded the Lyrics Matter Foundation, where I use Hip Hop to teach writing, creativity, artist development, entrepreneurship, music business, and cultural history. My work as an educator has since extended into schools, universities, masterclasses, and international cultural exchange, including a 2024 U.S. Department of State Next Level residency in Taiwan.

In 2026, I joined the Hip Hop faculty at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, bringing decades of professional experience as a working MC into higher education. I continue to record, tour, perform, and contribute guest features to prominent projects while teaching and developing the next generation of artists.

Today, my work connects the different chapters of my life—artist, educator, entrepreneur, founder, and student. Whether I am onstage, in the studio, in a classroom, or developing Lyrics Matter, my goal remains rooted in the culture that gave me my voice and creating opportunities to pass that knowledge forward.
